    Abstract
Gender inequality and child mortality, morbidity and malnutrition are inextricably linked. Data collected in ORIE’s research and evaluation studies throw light on the links between the low status and autonomy of women, low uptake of nutrition services, and poor child health outcomes, in four states of Northern Nigeria. ORIE’s annual gender syntheses summarise gender-related findings from across ORIE studies and suggest implications for nutrition programmes and policies like those supported by WINNN in Northern Nigeria.
