Our Neighbourhood our Lives Impact of Covid-19 Through the Eyes of Children

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on the lives of working children and their families and communities. It has disrupted education, increased economic vulnerability, and heightened the risk of child labour. In this context, the young researchers of CLARISSA played a critical role by conducting research on the impact of COVID-19 in their lives and their neighbourhoods. The young researchers were given cameras and asked to photograph their experiences, and then share the stories of their photos through narratives. The photo voice method, a participatory research method that empowers people to express themselves and their communities through photographs, was used as the research tool.
