Abstract
The Disability Inclusive Development (DID) programme is a large disability programme funded by the UK government’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). Under this programme, Task Order 20 is a project in Kenya aiming to develop the idea of inclusive early child development and education (IECDE), so that children with disabilities will be able to attend pre-schools alongside other children in their community. The project is trialling this approach in nine schools in different contexts, and as part of the project, the Institute of Development Studies UK is leading a piece of qualitative participatory research running a series of focus group discussions and individual interviews with different stakeholders. This report outlines the findings of the first round of focus group discussions.
