Natural Leaders’ Networks in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh

Abstract

This study, carried out by Vijeta Rao, looked at the work of Natural Leaders in two states in India, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. It seeks to understand the feasibility of forming Natural Leaders into a network to accelerate progress towards ODF.

Data was collected primarily through observations during visits to the villages and discussions with members of the community to understand the role played by Natural Leaders. Interviews with Natural Leaders provided necessary insights into their work as a team, about the network, the challenges and their vision of achieving ODF status across the state and country.
