Abstract
Through exploring on-the-ground realities in Asia and Africa, we draw attention to fivebroad assumptions which underpin many civil society and policy-related conversationsabout how migration works and how migration should work. In challenging them, weseek to strengthen policy and advocacy by centring the lived realities of the men,women, and children who move.
