Smart Handpumps: Reliable Service Delivery at Scale in Rural Africa

Abstract

The presentation covered the rural water challenge and opportunity in Africa, in particular the problems associated with non-functional handpumps and lack of access to safe water. Studies on the use of smart handpumps in Kenya were described and results from a pilot study in Kyuso district presented. The key findings were outlined.
