dc.description.abstract | The pandemic has disrupted lives and businesses
around the world. Its consequences have gone far
beyond the spread of the disease, as restrictions and
lockdown measures have caused a collapse in global
economic output.
Kenya’s response to the spread of the virus has been
similar to those used in other countries, starting with
public messages to urge strict hygiene and social
distancing, followed by travel restrictions and border
closures, and finally more drastic lockdown measures.
The restrictions and lockdown measures have affected
most of the country’s economic activities while
disrupting the domestic supply of and demand for
products, as well as Kenya’s labour market. | en |
