The Gender and Generation research in Zimbabwe builds on and extends, the novel insights exposed in Bangladesh, Ghana, and Indonesia in the previous set of studies interrogating intra-household dynamics under the auspices of the Migrating out of Poverty Research Consortium. It will explore how (im) mobilities at home, along with the route and at temporary or longer-term destinations shape, and are shaped by, linkages and transformations in translocal households. Additionally, the research will explore how mobile phones are used to take information, communicate preferences, exert power in decision - making processes and, in some contexts, to transfer money.en
