A lecture paper on the role of agriculture in development.en
My present brief is to discuss the role of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Zimbabwe in the development of the country. To a certain extent this role is self-evident. No development can take place in any country unless there is development of agriculture. Agriculture is one of the primary producing sectors of the economy. Its secondary and tertiary sectors cannot develop without a firm foundation in its primary areas. Unless Zimbabwe produces adequate food to feed its people and enough agricultural products to export and generate income in the form of foreign exchange, the country's development will falter.en
