A conference paper on the socio-economic matrix of livestock production in rural Zimbabwe.en
This paper covers a broad rsinge of issues relating to the socio-economic determinants of livestock production in Zimbabwe's Communal Lands (CLs). It is not comprehensive, but aims at picking up a number of important themes to develop the debate about CL livestock development. The central argument of this paper is that a fuller understanding of the CL livestock production system can only be gained when the interactions between household economic objectives, ecological processes and lineage production organisation are studied in an integrated way.en
