An analysis of poverty levels in Zimbabwe.en
This Chapter sets the scene for interpreting the poverty survey findings, providing a historical account of development issues in Zimbabwe affecting the present day situation. It focuses on macro-economic policies as these have direct impact on the wellbeing and poverty levels of the people of Zimbabwe. It also takes account of extraneous factors, namely frequent devastating droughts that have restricted the progress of development and influenced (usually negatively) the direction of macro- economic policies.en
