dc.description.abstractHydranencephaly is a rare condition characterised by complete or near complete absence of the cerebral hemispheres within relatively normal sized meninges and skull, the resulting cavity being filled with cerebrospinal fluid. It is considered to be an extreme form of porencephaly, a rare disorder characterised by a cyst or a cavity in the cerebral hemispheres. Some authors have referred to this disorder as schizencephaly.en
