A GEM case study on Zimbabwe's Eastern Highlands Tea Estates.en_GB
The aim of this study is to give an economic and historical resume of the development and expansion of the Eastern Highlands Tea Estates. It is hoped that the study will throw some light upon the intricate organizational problems that are faced by estate tea-growers and at the same time, reveal the changes that have taken place in the relationship between labour and management. Further, political changes in (Central Africa have had a profound effect upon the nature and sources of the labour force. Finally, changes in the world economy with regard to tea prices have recently forced the estates to diversify their agricultural production.en_GB
