dc.description.abstractThe development of the PIDS-NEDA Macroeconometric Model is a joint effort began• in 1985 by the Philippine •Institute for Development •Studies (P!DS) and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA). The main objective Was to come up with a model £hat government economic Planners could use in arriving at annual and medium-term•economic forecasts or targets and in assessing the implications of various policy options. The first version of the model consisting of 73 equations started to be•used in •1986. This version was •formulated with the end in • view•of•analyzing the impact of the country's economic adjustment program which is usually formulated in connection with £he country's availment Of funding facility from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).en_GB
