    Abstract
This study was commissioned by UNICEF Chad through its programme of cooperation with the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and International Cooperation (MEPIC). It was undertaken by a team of researchers from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) in the UK and the Bureau for Economic and Social Research and Study (BERDES) in N’Djamena. The report was written as a contribution to reflections on effective mechanisms for implementation of the National Social Protection Strategy (SNPS) in Chad.
