A sample survey was conducted on factors that affect the progress of privatization in Ethiopia. Since privatization is a new phenomenon in Ethiopia, the process was started with a limited know- how, experience and expertise. As a result of these and other problems like: organizations which are sold being in a economic crises, lack of transparency in the process, lack of good relation among the agency and some other concerned bodies, the bureaucracy which is unbreakable in the agency (this is the serious factor to be more precise some of the officials are in prison accused of corruption) etc. are the major problems which affect the progress of privatization seriously. The study tries to see problems from the agency and investors side. Besides it tries to analyse the pace of privatization and shows policy measures which have been taken to enhance or accelerate the privatization process. I managed to collect the data for the research work by giving questionnaires and employing interview method. Data analyses and interpretation was mostly based on the reason given by respondents.
