WFP’s Support to Strengthening the National Social Protection System in Ghana

<p dir="ltr">This case study reviews the role of WFP in supporting the national social protection system in Ghana over the last decade (2014-2023), including support to the national school feeding programme since 2006. It assesses how WFP has supported the building blocks of Ghana’s national social protection system at large, including on non-contributory social assistance as the Government’s main mechanism for supporting people living in poverty and situations of vulnerability. The case study represents a light?touch exercise, undertaken through a rapid literature review and interviews with WFP personnel and other key stakeholders.</p>
