Resources on governance and inclusion

Inclusion is a prominent concept – some say “buzzword” – in current international development thinking and debates. The recently adopted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) promote inclusion – to “leave no one behind” – and place governance at the heart of achieving this . For example, SDG 16 aims to “Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels”. This ten day rapid review provides an annotated bibliography of recent reviews and other resources on the relationship between inclusion and governance. It explores this in two parts: looking firstly at the literature on whether and how an inclusive society can lead to better governance, and secondly on what kinds of governance interventions can lead to greater inclusion.
