The field work for the study was done during the period May-June 1959, and, though many of the conditions prevailing in the factory at the time have remained constant, there have been over the past two years some minor changes in the organization and administration of matters relating to African personnel and it has therefore been found expedient to report moat of the findings in the past tense.
