Africa's forests have been reduced by half in this century due to a. combination of population pressure, agricultural encroachment, fuel wood gathering, excessive livestock numbers and commercial logging.The natural forest resources of countries such as Ethiopia, Rwanda and Burundi have been almost totally depleted.
