This weekly COVID-19 Health Evidence Summary is to signpost DFID and other UK government departments to the latest relevant evidence and discourse on COVID-19 to inform and support their response. Each summary is a result of half-a-day of work and is not intended to be a comprehensive summary of evidence. This summary covers thirteen publications including the global megatrial of the four most promising coronavirus treatments by WHO, genome sequence alliance to map spread of coronavirus by the UK, Viral dynamics in mild and severe cases of COVID-19, COVID-19 vaccine development, A trial of lopinavir-ritonavir in adults hospitalised with severe COVID-19, Preparedness is essential for malaria-endemic regions during the COVID-19 pandemic, Conserving Supply of Personal Protective Equipment, Rational use of face masks in the COVID-19 pandemic, Scientific evidence published that the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) used to advise the UK Government’s response, SARS-CoV-2 viral load in upper respiratory specimens of infected patients, The coronavirus pandemic in five powerful charts, Impact of non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) to reduce COVID-19 mortality and healthcare demand, and Publishers make coronavirus (COVID-19) content freely available and reusable. The summary also covers report on tracking COVID-19 cases, modelling and forecasting, online course and COVID-19 resource hubs that are accessible by public.
