WIEGO, alongside membership organizations of the working poor, has been monitoring the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on informal workers around the world. In mid-2020, interviews were conducted with domestic workers, home-based workers, street vendors and market traders, and waste pickers in 11 cities. In mid-2021, interviews were conducted with the same workers to assess if they had recovered. Round 2 findings suggest that the economic fallout of the COVID-19 crisis remains deep and persistent for workers at the base of the economy. Explore the key findings through this infographic.
