Fortalecendo a Legitimidade das Organizações da Sociedade Civil: Pesquisa-acção com organizações que trabalham em prol dos direitos das mulheres

This policy brief is the result of a collaboration between Fórum Mulher and the Institute of Development Studies entitled 'Strengthening the Legitimacy of Civil Society Organisations for Empowerment and Social Accountability: action research with women's rights movements in Mozambique'. The study is part of the Action for Empowerment and Accountability research programme. The study aimed at analysing the role of women's rights organisations in mediating between women and girls and the state. What are the mechanisms for dialogue and building a movement between these organisations and the groups that they represent? To what extent does the way the organisations work present effective and inclusive political representation? What legitimacy challenges do the organisations face and what strategies do they adopt to solve them?
