Summary Summary This article analyses the impact of ‘low intensity’ war on the Nicaraguan economy and the state, and concludes that this has not led either to an increased centralisation of power or to the militarisation of the state. Resumé Resumé Démocratie et Militarisation: Guerre et Développement Cet article analyse l'impacte de la guerre Me basse intensité’ sur l'économie et l'état du Nicaragua, et il conclut que cela n'a pas conduit ni à l'accroissement de la centralisation du pouvoir, ni à la militarisation de l'état.
