dc.description.abstract | The Post-Production Food Industry Advisory Unit (PFIAU) was set up in 1984 to spearhead the implementation of projects under the SADCC Food Security Programme on food storage, processing, and preservation. In terms of the SADCC Food Security Programme, the projects examine various methods used in SADCC countries for reducing post-production losses in major food crops; mainly cereals, grain' legumes, vegetables, fruits, oilseeds, roots and tubers, livestock, and fish. Furthermore, existing food industry technologies are being studied with a view to promoting widespread adoption of those that are most appropriate within the SADCC region. | en |
